Delaware Business Times: A Shared Responsibility – How Business Can Help Strengthen Community Safety in Delaware

As of last year Wilmington has seen a nearly nine percent decrease in shootings, thanks to sustained commitment, funding, and cross-sector collaboration among community, government, and philanthropy. 

Delaware’s innovative approach of addressing violence prevention has recently earned national recognition. To sustain this momentum, Lauren Footman, executive director of End Community Violence Now and Renata B. Kowalczyk, chief executive officer of Wilmington Alliance, are calling on the business community to join the statewide effort to address community violence.

Business leaders are encouraged to bring not only financial investment, but also their time, visibility, and resources to help advance long-term safety and equity across Delaware.
